Well Hi!!! If you are looking for budget or event luxurious hotels in Bali you’ll find them easily because this island has an endless list of that stuff, but poorly most of them are located in crowded areas complete with its crazy traffic and the hustle-bustle. Then what’s the solution? Well, you can truly experience the island’s magic by setting up a camp and sleep under the star while enjoying the green atmosphere that surrounds your campsite.
Enough Space For The Folks
Bali has many stunning campsites that are ready to pamper you in its own way, not by the island’s famed hospitality that you usually get from the staff during your staycation at the hotel or resorts, but by nature itself. These campsites provide stunning views that will make your holiday on the island way more perfect, one of those campsites is the Sukawana Sunrise Campsite.
Sukawana Camping Ground is a newly developed tourist destination that is not so far from the Island’s famous pre-wedding spot called “Bukit Cinta” known for its view directly overlooking the stunning Mount Batur. While some campsites in Bali are still “Pure” or still not supported by proper facilities like a parking lot or toilets, others are truly well managed by the locals so you don’t need to worry about the area’s safety and stuff.

Sukawana Campsite is one of those well-maintained spots that are available on the island. I spent 2 days one 1 night chilling out on this place, the staffs here were really friendly and helpful, It’s such a nice place to enjoy your holiday, the atmosphere was so relaxing since it stays on highland so the air was fresh, totally different compared to Bali’s southern area like Kuta, Seminyak, Jimbaran, and Canggu which is not really good. How about the phone signal and internet? Well, the phone signal was decent most of the time but did experience some drops, however, my internet signal was working really good, surprisingly faster than I expected. How about space? There are enough spaces for the whole folks who want to escape the island’s hubbub. In short, this place was totally great and I would love to stay longer next time I come here.
Sukawana Campsite is located in Pinggan Village, Bangli Regency just close to Kintamani Village and Batur Volcano tourism site. Volcano? Yes, volcano!!! This place is conveniently located near the remarkable Batur Volcano, more precisely at the side of the prehistoric caldera. The caldera was formed as a result of the explosion of mega volcano thousands of years ago. Now, you can imagine how amazing the view that you’ll get if you decide to set up a camp in this place.

You can easily access this place from Ubud or other area, tourists mostly will stay in Ubud before they go to the village and spend one or two nights at the highland. Why is that? Because it’s closer to start your journey from Ubud than any other area in Bali.
Green Atmosphere That Surrounds The Area
Though the road to get here is proper enough but still, you need to be careful because after arriving in Kintamani, you are going to pass the road that is usually used by the truck drivers. When you reach the entrance of the village, the road becomes narrower and winding, in the rainy season, the area becomes foggy so you’ll need to be in a full concentration mode while driving or riding your bike. I’ve attached a google map below, to make it easier for you to get here.
It’s a well-maintained campsite, they’ve already got proper facilities right there. When I was here, I thought there were no restaurants or small “warung” to buy food, but I was wrong, they have their own mini restaurant with a bunch of tasty foods and drinks, my favorite was the Hot Milk and Kebab. You don’t need to worry about how you are going to wash your hand, poop, pee, or even take a bath because they have 2 toilets that are ready to help you, the water in here was so cold so you better be ready for that. How about the parking lot? Well, they have a great parking lot that is fit for several cars and groups of motorcycle.
The Bamboo Houses
Sukawana Campsite has developed a new way of camping that is called Glamping or Glamour Camping, yes they have several small bamboo houses fit for two persons who are not ready to sleep in a tent. Each bamboo houses are already included with one bed, comfy pillows, lamp, plugs complete with its electricity to charge your phone, and don’t forget the firewood as well.
The Parking Lot
For those who want to have the wilder experience, they can book a tent with various capacity depends on how many friends or family members taken to the campsite. You can set up a camp by yourself or you can just request to the staff to do it for you. Sleeping bags, mattresses, lamps, plugs, and firewood are included for each booking.
There are several interesting activities that you can try right there, you can do a morning walk to the famous pre-wedding spot called “Pohon Cinta” and take some insta-worthy pictures right there, If you hate morning walk you can explore the camping ground without going outside from the area. They have a leafy orange garden and awesome selfie spots. The view on this campsite is pretty much the same as what you’ll get in Pohon Cinta, every selfie spots directly overlooking to Mount Batur, Mount Abang, Mount Agung, Villages below the campsite and the spectacular Lake Batur. At night you can set a bonfire and sing along with friends or your family. This is a must thing to try when you are in Bali.
