Well hay!!! Indonesia is not just about Bali, there are hundreds, or even thousands beautiful places in this country which still unexposed, not so touristy, and maybe way more beautiful than Bali. Not surprised, this Country was formed with thousands of islands, and some of the islands do not have a name yet, that’s why, don’t be surprised with all the beauty that this country has and there are still many hidden beautiful places which are still not found. Last week I got a chance to do a super trip with ASDP Indonesia Ferry to Pahawang Island.
Sir,what is ASDP Indoensia Ferry ?
Hmm, It’s the biggest marine transportation State-owned enterprise, so most of the ferry which sail on this country’s seas are theirs, they also manage 35 harbors with 29 branch companies. With 240 routes, they connect Islands with short routes which are really useful for the people who live in a such big archipelago country like Indonesia.
Back to the story, why did I get the chance to do that super trip? Well, it’s because I won the super blog competition from ASDP Indonesia Ferry #AsyiknyaNaikFerry, How’s It? Cool hah? Uwehehehe, and here are the details from my trip to Pahawang Island.
I started the journey from Ngurah Rai International Airport-Bali, It’s the best airport in Indonesia, just for your information. To go to Pahawang Island, you can fly from Bali to Jakarta and fly again from Jakarta to Lampung Province, since this paradise is located in Lampung Province, then you can just find any flights which can take you to this area.
But I didn’t take the way that I explained to you before, why? Because I wanted to enjoy my road trip, I don’t care if the trip took more times than usual because I only took one flight, that’s just the way I fed my soul. After one and a half hours flight from Bali, I finally touched down in Jakarta the Capital City of Indonesia, from the airport I went to the meeting point and met my other blogger friends who also won the competition, plus I met the competition committees who’ll manage the trip and give all of the great services as the rewards. Awesome!!! From the meeting point, we went to Merak Harbor in Banten, after two hours drive, we finally reached the harbor, and set sail to Bakauheni Harbor in Lampung. Yap, we sailed with JATRA III.
Sir what is JATRA III?
Well, it’s a name of a Ferry which owned by ASDP Indonesia Ferry, one of the oldest ship that the company has, built in 1985 this old passenger ship is still active and vit for service, By the way the facilities inside the ship were not that old, comfortable chairs, small café with cold drinks and snacks, or even air conditioners were located in every corner of the Passengers room. You will be surprised, because as soon as you sleep on those cozy chairs, you’ll forget everything, and after you wake up you have arrived in Bakauheni Harbor. That’s what happened to me last week.
From Bakauheni Harbor, we headed to Ketapang Harbor, It’s a small port in South Lampung,a port for those who want to cross the sea to reach the National Treasure, uwhehe. We sailed to Pahawang Island for about one hour, along the ride, I saw beautiful scenery from the hills that lined up high on every islands we’ve passed.
Stay at Andreas Villa and Chill
Our first destination was the God Damn Villa!!! Yap, the Andreas Villa, which really awesome like crazy. The first thing that I thought when I stepped my foot on it, was “How could they built such an amazing tropical building on a such amazing island like this?” Great, I would sell my girl to the antique shop if they let me stay there forever, uwehehehe, kidding.
After we dropped our stuff, we headed to the open water to snorkeling, hmmm well, well, well, this island and beaches around it were just right for those who love to see under water treasures. All snorkelers will be amazed by the colorful of coral reefs and a lot of kinds of fish
”don’t worry, there is no stingray right there, It will just be fine, uwehehe”
and the main actor who will make everyone fascinated, is The Clown Fish!!! If the fish were a woman, I would marry her. Hold my word.
Riding Banana Boat and Donut Boat
These are the most activities that you should do, when you are around. After visiting a couple of the snorkeling spots, we went to Pantai Timbul, the beach was really unique, especially during the low tide. It would appear as a beach which connect two islands during the ebb tide, the islands are Pahawang Besar and Pahawang Kecil. Not only got around on the beach, we also had a chance to ride the fuckin banana boat and donut boat.
Buy Some Fresh Coconuts
The coconuts were fresher than every people’s nuts right there, lol. You gotta try the tropical fruits, since It would be really helpful if you enjoyed it after doing some crazy activities on the beach. Thing that amazed me was, the price of the coconut was really cheap like hell, you can get one by only paid for Rp. 10.000, which you couldn’t get if you were in Bali or Lombok. fresh and cheap? I call that perfect!!!
Around the two brother islands, there were several islands surrounding the area. But most activities were pointed in Pahawang Besar, because it’s the only island which has the most population, most natives were fisherman, Well, I could see that from many fishing boats that were parked on the beach, just for your information the fishing boats right here can be converted to passenger boats, that’s why the ship that I rode, look a bit fragile, it’s not like the common passenger ship that look more solid and strong. But nah fuck that, we don’t need strong passenger boat right there, since there were almost no waves at the surrounding sea. It’s totally save!!!
We stayed for 2 days on the island, and It was great!!! Crystal blue water, white sand beach, calm tide, beautiful fish, and palm trees, Pahawang Island is really the place for those who want to chill and relax, we went back to Jakarta by KMP Sebuku, one of the coolest passenger ship owned by ASDP Indonesia Ferry, they have awesome murals inside the passenger room, the murals are so colorful, I guess kids would love it, the other facilities were just the same with other ships owned by ASDP Indoneisa Ferry.
After several hours sailed on the sea we arrived at the Merak Harbor and went directly to Yello City Hotel in Jakarta to had a rest, and the next day it’s time for me to got back to Bali. The journey with ASDP Indonesia Ferry to Pahawang Island was dope and great, I hope I can do such a great journey with them again in the future.
